Warriors Too Strong For Galion, Advance To Face Lex
It was a wire to wire beat down for the surging Ontario Warriors who made light work of sectional semifinal opponent Galion with a 67-37 victory at Willard High School.
Ontario pounded the ball inside early, receiving 16 points from senior Jayden Jacobs as they blew open a 15-4 advantage after the opening frame and swelled their lead to 32-18 by the half. Defensively, the Warriors limited Tigers leading scorer Isaiah Alsip to just a pair of second quarter buckets, holding him to 4 points for the night as they put the game to rest before the fourth quarter even began with a commanding 55-22 lead.
Griffin Shaver led all scorers with 21 points while Shaquan Coburn added 11 on his birthday as eight different Warriors got in the scoring column. Jack McElliott was the lone Galion player to reach double-figures with 13 points.
The #8 Warriors will next battle #2 Lexington for the D2 Willard Sectional title.
