Tyger’s Swat Yellow Jackets With A 33-19 Win

Mansfield Senior held serve at home with a 33-19 victory over Mount Vernon under cold and wet conditions.

 

The Yellow Jackets were competitive in the first half scoring first, but Mansfield Senior would take a 14-7 lead into the break and started off the second half strong. Fueled by Angelo Grose's 3 TD performance, the Tygers ran the score up to 27-7 and held a 33-11 edge early in the final frame.

 

A late Mount Vernon special teams score closed the gap to a two-possession game, but the Tygers would not allow them to get any closer, holding on for a 14-point victory on senior night. Next week

 

Mansfield Senior (4-5) will travel across town to face rival Madison (1-8) while Mount Vernon will defend home turf against West Holmes (7-2).
