Team OH.Report vs
with Lady Rams Soccer
Ever since the Madison girls soccer program put reigning Ohio D2 head coach of the year Zac Huff in his position back in 2015, the Lady Rams have been on the fast track to sustained success. With two Final Four berths in the last three seasons and a decorated group of standout seniors, it appears Madison may be in the driver's seat for a third Regional championship this fall.
While having the likes of All-American Taylor Huff, track star Kari Eckenwiler, Phyllis Stanfield- who put up 45 points as a junior, All-Conference performers Taylor Russel, Chesney Davis and
others certainly have aided Huff's career 78-17-9 record, there's another key element that's helped carry the Lady Rams to sustained prosperity - Conditioning.
A fitness feat each member of the squad has to pass each year is called "The Gauntlet", a 6-phase endurance test that begins with a mile run in under 8 minutes, followed by a 3/4 mile run under 6 minutes, 1/2 mile under 4 minutes and 1/4 mile in less than 2 minutes before finishing up with 200-yard and 100-yard sprints.
OH.Report team members Garret Parlett and Storm Bluntschly have both not seen a track in quite some time, but were told they should test themselves by running "The Gauntlet" by boss Brian Skowronski so he could get out of running it. The following video is what happened during that fitness test day.
