A tradition spanning more than 60 years wrapped-up on April 17 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in downtown Mansfield, where hundreds of volunteers hosted the annual Easter Bake Sale.
More than five weeks of preparation were needed to create thousands of baked goods and traditional ethnic foods for the largest event of it’s kind in North Central Ohio. Proceeds from this annual sale are used to purchase sacramental wine, hosts and other items for liturgical celebrations.
Event coordinator Ann Brown says the same recipes have been used every year that the sale has been held to maintain the same spirit and tradition while increasing the quantity of items produced. Brown says she looks forward to the event every year because it brings together people from all walks of life.
