Flyers Take Unbeaten Battle In OT

In a clash of undefeateds, Norwalk St. Paul earned a key Firelands Conference victory in overtime over South Central, taking a leg up in the league race on the Trojans with an intense 69-66 win.

With four starters scoring in double-figures, the Flyers would hold the lead for most of the contest as Nick Winslow dropped 21, Brandon Furlong had 14, Nate Winslow added a dozen and Adam Baker scored 11 to help St Paul build a 34-26 halftime advantage.

Conference leading scorer Simon Blair had just six points at the break but exploded for 14 in the second half as South Central erased their deficit by the end of the fourth quarter to force an extra session. Blair would score all six Trojans points in OT  to finish with a game-high 26 but it wasn't enough as the Flyers knocked down 7-10 free throws in the frame to help preserve their perfect mark.

Joining Blair in double-figure scoring was David Lamoreaux with 15 and Isaiah Seidel chipping in with 10 as the 9-1 Trojans suffer their 1st loss of the season.

St. Paul stays perfect at 8-0 and will face the Trojans again on Valentine's Day in Greenwich.
