Whippets Test Themselves At 3-Team Scrimmage
Shelby welcomed a pair of bigger school’s to W.W. Skiles Field for a 3-team scrimmage to get battle-tested for the fast approaching high school football season.
The Whippets competed against D2 power Olmsted Falls and Sandusky Perkins (D3) to continue their evaluation of young talent getting their first varsity experience. With basically all new starters across the board on both sides of the ball, Shelby got off to a slow start against each competitor but found their stride by the end of the night.
Head coach Erik Will, now entering his sixth season running the program, was pleased with the progression of his inexperienced group. Will believes his bunch took another positive step in the right direction and feels his team will be ready for a Week 1 battle with Madison if they keep building on their current trajectory.
