ONTARIO -- Opening night got Ontario off to a 1-0 start after driving by Huron 64-43 inside The O-Rena.

Griffin Shaver fueled the Warriors with a game-best 21 points, notching 14 in the first half alone. The Tigers owned a 16-15 edge after the first before getting outscored 21-9 in the second for a 36-25 Ontario lead.

With a suffocating 15-4 third quarter, the Warriors created some distance on the scoreboard and would coast in the fourth to a 21-point victory. Kolten Kurtz added 11 for Ontario, while Huron got 13 from Jacob Lamb and nine by Tait Fischer.

 

Next up Ontario (1-0) heads to Shelby (1-0) for a big MOAC showdown with the defending league champs while the Tigers (0-1) go to Margaretta (0-1).
