Lady Warriors Sink Pirates In Sectional Final

Ontario proved they were worthy of hosting a sectional title match as the #3 seed in the Div II Lexington District, blitzing #6 Sandusky Perkins 10-0 to claim the title.

A number of Lady Warriors got themselves into the scorebook, building a 4-0 halftime cushion before exploding for a six-pack of goals in the final 40 minutes. Three of Ontario's goals were put away by Abby Potter, while scoring machine Kyla Spencer added a pair to push her season total to a team-best 22.

Ava Ruhe also added two goals with Maggie Hoffman, Alex Jacobs and Alaina Reed each contributing with scores of their own. Defensively, keeper Sydney Large celebrated her 18th birthday with a shutout win, saving three Pirates shots on frame.

At 12-3-2, the Lady Warriors advance to face the winner between #2 Lexington and #7 Vermilion at the Lexington Soccer Complex on 10-23 for a 7 pm start.
