Warriors Soccer Building On New Foundation Of Success

The winning tradition for the Ontario boys’ soccer program doesn’t date back very far. For years the Warriors were considered a doormat in the area, but 5th-year head coach Chris McClenathan has the team trending in a successful direction.

Last season is considered the best Ontario has ever seen, finishing with an impressive 15-3-2 record as Division II District champions. The squad is expected to perhaps even exceed last year’s success with eight starters returning for a senior-laden bunch, that arguably possesses a deeper collection of talent than any team in school history.

With a beefed-up schedule that will test the Warriors throughout the regular season, there is a strong belief amongst veteran players that a state tournament run could be within the cards for this confident bunch as the regular season approaches. Ontario kicks off their season on August 17 at Lexington against a Minutemen squad that beat them on opening night last year.
