Cade Stover Named Ohio Mr. Football 2018
The top football player in Ohio for the 2018 high school season calls Richland County his home.
Lexington’s Cade Stover was named Mr. Football by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, in coordination with the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association, becoming the first player in the county to win the prestigious honor.
The Minutemen’s All-Ohio senior LB/RB was a force on both sides of the ball, leading his squad to the Division III Regional Semifinals with a 7-5 record after Lex started the season at 1-4.
Stover accumulated 175 total tackles including 11 for a loss with a sack, also intercepting 4 passes and forcing a pair of fumbles. The standout senior also rushed 205 times for nearly 1,500 yards and 18 TD’s, catching 21 passes for 238 yards and a score.
For his career, Stover racked up nearly 600 tackles with 4 sacks, 8 interceptions, 6 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries and 24 pass breakups. He is committed to play for Ohio State University at the college level.
