Knights Bounce Back With Win At Lincoln
The Northmor Golden Knights bounced back from its first loss of the season defeating Cardington-
Lincoln 36-13 on the road.
Northmor (6-1) scored on its first possession of the game on a Wyatt Reader 2-yard touchdown run
making it 6-0. The Golden Knights added on to its lead midway through the quarter on a Hunter Mariotti to Blake Miller 36-yard pass to make it 14-0.
Cardington-Lincoln (1-6) then got its first score at the start of the second quarter on a Nathan Hickman
17-yard touchdown pass to Trey Brininger cutting the lead to 14-6. Northmor then finished the half on a 15-0 run as Mariotti threw touchdown passes to Gavin Ramos from 5 yards out and Blake Miller from 45 yards away making it 29-6 at the break.
Both teams exchanged touchdowns in the fourth quarter to finish the scoring as Mariotti threw his fouth
of the game, a 31-yard pass to Andrew Armrose, while the Pirates scored on a Joe Denney 1-yard run.
Mariotti finished going 12-of-18 passing for 293 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception. Wyatt Reader
led the Northmor rushing attack carrying the ball 19 times for 98 yards and a score.
Hickman was 7-of-16 passing for 111 yards, a touchdown and an interception while Denney rushed 6
times for 70 yards and a score.
The victory keeps the Golden Knights in 4th position in the Division 6, Region 22 rankings as they head
to 2-5 Danville in Week 8.
Cardington-Lincoln will look to break its 3-game losing streak as they head to 7-0 East Knox on Friday.
