MANSFIELD -- A fast start for Mansfield Senior ended with a 48-46 comeback victory for Mount Vernon inside Pete Henry Gym, despite a 24-11 turnover disparity.

The Lady Tygers (0-2) would build an eight-point first half cushion and appeared to be in total control with their pressure defense creating 17 takeaways. A 26-20 halftime advantage for Senior High would quickly dissolve with the Yellow Jackets (3-4) consistently breaking the Tygers pressure and converting for transition baskets at the other end.

Mansfield had a chance to force overtime or win the game in the closing seconds but simply couldn't overcome an icy 16-61 shooting performance.
