McKinley Bulldogs Bite Wooster 58-51

A stellar Division 1 matchup between state-ranked Canton McKinley and a one-loss Wooster squad saw the Bulldogs leave town with an impressive road win, defeating the Generals 58-51 on their home floor.

A physical inside presence helped McKinley (17-4) build a 13-8 first quarter advantage as Brent Walker Jr. posted half of his dozen points in the frame. The Bulldogs then created some separation on the scoreboard with four 3-pointers in the second, extending their lead to 30-19 at the half.

Wooster's (18-2) best stretch played out in the third, utilizing a balanced scoring attack to trim the deficit down to 37-46 heading into the final eight minutes of action. An early fourth quarter push had the Generals within two possessions of the lead, but the Bulldogs answered with some big triples to end any threat of a comeback.

Eight McKinley players netted at least four points with Walker and Kobe Johnson each scoring 12, McKhi Smith added nine and both Chortez Armstrong and Antwan Williams chipped-in with six points each.

Drew Dossi led Wooster with 13 pts, followed by Reece Mitchell with 12, Ezra McKee had 10 and Tyler Pettorini put up six as their 8-game win streak came to a close.
