Mansfield 'Black Lives Matter' Protest

By: Brian Skowronski     5-30-2020

Mansfield - Voices were heard throughout downtown Mansfield on Saturday morning into the afternoon, with a spirited message to support the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

The more than three-hour rally saw over 1,000 people of all ages and color come together peacefully for a protest sparked by the recent death of Minneapolis man George Floyd, a recent victim of police brutality against a black man.

Organized by recent Mansfield Senior graduate Maggie Allred and a handful of friends, the event brought out passion, anger, and frustration from many in attendance through a nonviolent minor. No property was damaged and nobody was arrested during the peaceful public demonstration that patrons hope will promote positive change.
