Lexington Improve To 8-0 With Win Over Wooster

WOOSTER -- Lexington would remain undefeated following a trip to Wooster, knocking off the Generals 10-2 for an 8-0 start to their season.

Lexington came out strong, notching three RBI’s in the first inning to set them up nicely defensively. Wooster struggled out of the blocks on both sides of the diamond, and would never find their footing.

As a unit, Lexington shelled out 12 total hits to keep the Generals off balance in the field, receiving contributions from multiple playmakers. Jillian Morr went 4-4 on the day, while Julian Bammann, Kaylie Eichorn and Camryn Campbell all had multiple hits for Lady Lex.

After falling behind 4-0, the Lady Generals wouldn’t go down without a fight as they delivered an RBI groundout that forced a runner home for their first score of the day in the bottom of 4. Wooster would then tack on another run in the same inning on an overthrow that forced a run home to trim their deficit down to 4-2.

Lexington would respond with 3 big runs in the top of 5th to put some cushion on the scoreboard, with runs coming from an RBI, another from a pass ball opportunity, and an RBI fly out to center to give Lex a 7-2 advantage,

Lady Lex would own the batters box again in the 6th inning to add three more runs off of 3 big RBI’s and put away the Generals to move to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the OCC. Kylie Galownia lasted 7 innings and only allowed 4 hits for Lexington to secure the win.
