Bounce Back Season: Lexington Gearing Up For Redemption

After making the deepest tournament run in program history in 2016, the Lexington football program turned in a disappointing campaign the following season. The Minutemen finished just 2-8 in 2017, winning only one contest in OCC play as the defending league champions.

With a new season approaching, the team’s senior captains say there’s a different feel at training camp this year. Fueled by the lingering effects of a losing campaign, Lexington veterans have a collective determination to change the tide in 2018.

Ohio State commit Cade Stover returns for his final high school season without the pressure that comes with being an undecided 4-star recruit. The Minutemen plan to use him as a versatile offensive weapon all over the field after a failed experiment that saw Stover under center the previous season.

During his tenure with the program, 5th-year head coach Taylor Gerhardt has proven his teams can bounce back after difficult seasons. He has yet to post consecutive losing campaigns and has a group of tenacious seniors driven to continue that streak.
