Lexington Gets Revenge, Swat Jackets
It was a total beat down in favor of Lexington in their second regular season matchup with Mount Vernon, evening the score for an early season loss to the Jackets with a lopsided 66-33 victory.
After taking a slim 12-9 lead into the second stanza, the Minutemen dominated the rest of the way by holding Mount Vernon to single-figure scoring in each quarter of the contest. Lex held a 28-18 halftime edge before blitzing the Jackets 22-9 in the third and put an exclamation point on the win with a 16-6 fourth quarter rush to close the game.
Cade Stover fueled the Minutemen with an efficient 8-13 shooting performance, finishing with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Fellow senior Kyle Johnston added a dozen points while Nick Stehle and Kaydan Berry each chipped-in in eight.
Only Connor Fisher netted double-figures for Mount Vernon with 11, as the Jackets made just 2 of 16 three-pointers, and turned it over 13 times.
Lexington improves to 10-3, 5-1 in the OCC with their 6th straight win, dropping Mount Vernon to 6-8, 3-4.
