Last Minute Goals Push Lex By Ontario
The "Backyard Rivalry" wouldn't be decided until the final minute of action, but a pair of late goals would fuel a 4-2 Lexington win at Ontario.
The match was tied at 2-2 heading into the last 70 seconds of action with Alaina Reed and Kyla Spencer producing Lady Warriors goals while Lacee Bethea and Abby Eifrid each scored for Lady Lex. Then with just 1:06 remaining in regulation, Lauren Alexander drilled the game-winning goal before Lex put some icing on the cake with another score in the closing seconds.
After the match, Lady Lex head coach Buck Morton told OH.Report, "It's been a long time since we've beat Ontario, so to do it on their field in this fashion was great."
