Kirtland Romps Ironton For 3rd Straight State Title

The fourth-longest winning streak in the nation continued in the D5 State Championship where Kirtland hammered Ironton 38-0 to claim the program's 3rd straight title and 6th over the last 10 seasons.

The Hornets capped-off an undefeated 11-0 state title run behind Mason Sulivan who rushed for 127 yards and a score while tossing a 50-yard TD to his younger brother Gage. Liam Powers, Danny Davidson and Anthony DeMarco each found the end zone on the ground for Kirtland too, who led 10-0 at the break before blowing the game open with a 21-0 third quarter run.

The Tigers (11-1) offense was completely held in check, managing just 59 yards from scrimmage as stud RB Reid Carrico, a future Ohio State Buckeye, never got anything going out of the backfield.
