Blair Breaks Trojans Scoring Record
In 62-56 Win Over Crestview
History was made at "The Den" during Crestview's Firelands Conference battle with South Central where the Cougars put up a good fight but fell 62-56 as the Trojans crowned a new career scoring king.
Paced by solid offensive performance by Evan Hamilton, who scored a team-high 15 points and Kameron Goon's 13, Crestview would run out to a 18-11 advantage through one quarter of action and stayed on top 36-34 heading into the half.
In the third quarter is when South Central made their move, though, outscoring the Cougars 12-4 in the stanza as senior point guard Simon Blair broke the program's all-time scoring in the process. Blair finished with a game-best 22 points, 9 assists and 9 steals in the contest, surpassing Tom Kramb's school-record 1,410 points with his monster performance.
Following a celebration for Blair's historic feat, the Trojans would then play even with Crestview in the final quarter to secure their seventh victory of the year and remain unbeaten as David Lamoreaux added a double-double to Blair's big night with 13 pts and 10 rebounds
South Central (7-0) will next face Triway on a neutral floor while Crestview (1-5) heads to Monroeville (3-2).
