The Carey Blue Devils will play for a Division 6, Region 22 championship after holding off Hillsdale 7-0 on Friday at Willard High School.
It was a defensive battle as the eighth-seeded Blue Devils had multiple chances to get on the board throughout the first 3 1/2 quarters of the game.
They were unable to cash in with 2:30 left in the second quarter as Hillsdale (8-4) held on 4th-and-1 from its 5 to keep the game scoreless at the break.
Carey (7-5) then had a shot at the lead to start the fourth quarter with a 37-yard field goal, but the kick hit the crossbar keeping the 0-0 game intact.
The Blue Devils would finally get on the board, however, with 2:05 remaining as Connor Williams ran in from a yard out on 4th-and-goal giving them a 7-0 lead.
Reece Billock then clinched the game for Carey intercepting a Hillsdale pass to move them into the regional final.
The fifth-seeded Falcons were unable to get its offense going as they were held to under 100 yards and crossed midfield only once in the game.
Carey will face third-seeded East Knox (12-0) on Friday in the Regional Championship with the winner advancing to the Division 6 State Semifinal.
