Browns Trade Duke Johnson
To Texans For 2020 Draft Pick
August 8, 2019
The Cleveland Browns have agreed to send disgruntled RB Duke Johnson Jr. to Houston for a 4th Round pick in 2020 that could become a 3rd-Rounder.
Cleveland drafted Johnson in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft, evolving into a productive weapon out of the Browns backfield, especially as a receiving threat. The Duke racked up 2,170 yards on 235 receptions during his time in Cleveland, rushing for 1,286 yards and scoring 13 total touchdowns.
Johnson had expressed a desire to be traded due to a perceived limited offensive role with the team along with the addition of Pro Bowler Kareem Hunt in the offseason. A hamstring injury has kept the 25-year-old sidelined for the majority of training camp this season but has proven to be a versatile threat out of the backfield.
