Big Red Want To Finish In 2020
Make Playoff Push After 7-3 Season
Aug 1, 2020
Coming off a prosperous 7-3 season, the Plymouth Big Red look to keep the gears turning and build on 2019's successes. The unfortunate arrival of COVID-19 has limited teams at practices throughout the offseason, but this didn’t stop Plymouth from grinding in the hot, humid conditions.
Head Coach Mark Genders says, “ We are restricted with some of the things we can do obviously in phase one protocol (over the summer) but it is what it is. We take it in stride, it is hot, the kids are doing everything we ask, that's what they've been doing for awhile. This is a great group of guys.”
Coming into his first season as starting varsity quarterback Luke Hamman is excited for the challenge ahead, stating, “ We’re just hoping to get everybody in here, working hard, get together as a team and just hopefully have a good bond. Have each other's backs and just get things done.”
Last year's campaign saw all three of Plymouth's losses come to playoff teams, including a tough 22-24 defeat to Firelands Conference champion Western Reserve. The Big Red opens their season on the road at Lowelville on August 29th at 7 PM.
