The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association announced All-Ohio teams for the 2019 season with four players in our area receiving 1st Team honors.

Lexington's Ben Vore earned 1st Team honors in Division II and was also selected by coaches of Northwest Ohio as the Division II District 9 Player of the Year. Vore's season entailed 35 hits with a batting average of .461, 3 triples, 5 doubles, 2 home runs and 27 RBI's with 26 runs. Vore was also a top pitcher for the area with a 1.02 average allowing 7 runs in 34-1/3 innings of action and was 6-0 in the regular season with 17 walks and 55 strikeouts. Vore will be taking his talents to Cincinnati to play for the Bearcats this upcoming fall.

Hillsdale's Jay Luikart earned 1st Team All-Ohio honors in Division IV. Luikart has an impressive season going with his state-bound Falcons with a .505 batting average, cranking out 11 home runs, 12 doubles, 54 RBIs and 46 runs scored. Luikart's season on the hill has been spotless with a 10-0 record to go along with a 0.68 ERA and 113 strikeouts against eight walks in 61 1/3 innings. Luikart will take his talents to Wright State this fall to play for the Raiders.

Ontario's Avery Fisher earned 1st Team All-Ohio honors in Division II and was also named the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Fisher had an impressive year at the dish with a batting average of .400, collecting 32 hits, 7 doubles, and 4 triples. He also contributed to 11 runs out of the leadoff spot and had 30 runs scored. Fisher had a whopping 32 steals on the bases while only being caught once. Fisher will be taking his talents to Ohio State this fall to play for the Buckeyes.

Ashland's Brennen Hunt earned 1st Team All-Ohio honors In Divison I and was a 1st Team All-Ohio Cardinal Conference selection. Hunt had a .554 batting average, which is the highest since 1908 for an Ashland player. Hunt knocked out 41 hits with 30 singles, 8 doubles, 3 triples and also collected 31 RBI's scoring 28 runs. Ashland finished their season 13-9. Hunt will be taking his talents to Ohio Dominican this fall to play for the Panthers.
